Of course! Nothing is Obama's fault! He inherited this mess and congress won't let him pass his socialist agenda of destruction, but.things would be worse if not for his actions! So which is it mr president, did your actions save us from disaster or is none of this mess your fault?

The fact is Obama promised to reach across the isle, but he set the tone when he and his party controlled congress and passed whatever they wanted over Republican objections and in spite of the will of the people. The result of his leadership is the most divisive government in history!

The senate is still controlled by dems and the repub majority in house is not fillibuster proof. So you are being manipulated to blame congress but congress was completely controlled by dems from 2007 to 2011! This is all Obama's fault!

The contrary to your ridiculous post is the most widely agreed event - your congress refused to balance the books and bargained away the US credit rating, the dollar in an event that marked the point of the irreversible slide into 'has been' status for the US.  And they don't care much because they have their money outside of the US waiting to trade the dollar to destruction.  It is so simple even an idiot can see it - or maybe not perhaps ?

Clearly the tail is wagging the dog here.
The stalemate over the debt ceiling and subsequent compromise should never have been allowed (by Obama) to go on as long as it did.
He capitulated to Boehner who capitulated to the TP. It's disgusting.
    Where is the leadership???

Now, Obama can't even pick the date he wants to come and address the House on jobs because
    a) Boehner and the gang are having a vote at 6:30 pm and thus it's not convenient for them (like perhaps they could come in at IDK, 5:00 instead??)
    b) that night is a GOP candidates' debate, which is obviously more important to GOP members of Congress than discussing how to put Americans back to work.

Hello! It's the "people's" house, not Obama's! Oh and if Obama's jobs program was sooo important, maybe he could gave found the time to present it...idk... BEFORE vacation? The date Obama pucked was motivated by politics. Obama thought he could disrupt the republican debate and now it backfired because ni one is going to listen to him and if the broadcast interupts the football game his popularity is really going to tank! Lol

I almost lost my best friend to Obamacare and do not wish to give him or his family any more helicopters or elite first class super expensive no bounderies vacations to. I cannot believe that we the people haven't held him accountable and impeached him when we found out he was not born here. That is one of our rules to being president right?  He snickered and replied that he didn't know it was a requirement. I know our government isn't perfect, but even he didn't want to live anywhere else. He is blaming Congress and our focus is moved from our kids here and fighting abroad, away from the money wasted on toys & vacations, and away from his many mistakes.  I pray we the people will vote him away.

Now, I ask you: Where are the Jobs?

And who was it promising?? Why, the Republicans!

And who has NO INTENT of producing any jobs? Right again: The Republicans!

Stimulus bill had money in it for Job Creation: Olympia Snow and Susan Collins said Oh No....we will vote for the stimulus, but only if you give that money to rich people! More tax cuts, No jobs.

I have now asked you and lucas for an explanation of WHY those Bush tax cuts created no jobs, and WHY the Republicans in the House have not done anything about jobs, even though that is what they promised to do if elected.

Can you answer that or not?

            1. lady_love158 profile image59
lady_love158posted 12 years agoin reply to this

Tax rates have been stable perhaps a tax cut would spur jobs. The problem isn't really the tax rate but the uncertainty about what taxes will be going forward as a result of all the expansive new regulations pushed through by Obama like Obamacare, and Dodd-Frank. Both of those bills total over 2000 pages each and regulators are crafting the rules and regulations to implement them some 6 pages for every page in the bills! Remember Pelosi said we had to pass it to see whats in it and we're still finding out what that means. There is also uncertainty over the debt and other regulations in the pipline or being considered. Business will not hire under these circumstances. Remember too the Bush tax cuts are due to expire in 2012 more uncertainty going forward.

That does not answer the question.

We have had these cuts since 2003, when the Republicans had ALL branches of gvt.

                Why no jobs then?
Or in 2005....Obama and Pelosi weren't a factor then either.

And if it's the case that tax cuts DO NOT create jobs.....what is the point of them?

                Besides welfare to the rich?

I guess they need a spin for them huh? A reason to make them sound good, so they say, "Tax cuts create Jobs"

Well, no they don't. Tax cuts create even richer rich people, and leave the bill for running the country to the middle class.

Maybe this will answer your question. The fact is we had more jobs, and a larger employment force as well as lower unemployment in the years between 2003 and 2005 and were still much better off before Obama.

                  http://www.mybudget360.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/chart-3-unemployment-rate-and-participation-rate.png

But will you acknowledge that fact?

  6. lovemychris profile image76
    lovemychrisposted 12 years ago

Well, YOU may have been better off, I started my downfall in 03. And of course, it got worse over time, as those cuts took effect: Taking massive amounts of money OUT of America, and into Swiss bank accounts!

And we lost jobs under Bush......a lot.
Out-sourcing became the way to go.

So, now we are left with the after-math of it:

Massive shortage of money in the US coffers, Massive lay-offs for years, and no need for American workers.....

And this JUST happened since 2009, eh?

Cause and effect is what it is. Bush is the cause, Obama is dealing with the effect.

You should want to help him, instead of going back to Bushs' ways!

Typical liberal, the chart tells the story but all you care about is what happened to YOU. There was a slight uptick in unemployment in 2008 but it has since exploded under Obama. Now Obama himself has said things would be worse if he didn't act as he did, so he is taking credit, right? Seems right to me! When we began to see some.improvement in the economy he again took credit and you and your liberal friends cheered his good work. Well if he was responsible then, he's responsible now.

      1. lovemychris profile image76
lovemychrisposted 12 years agoin reply to this

He is not responsible for the Bush tax cuts.....that is all on the Republicans.

I see that as the cause of our downfall. You do not.

And when they come up for renewal...beware. If the Republicans have their way, those cuts will be PERMANENT.

lady_love158posted 12 years agoin reply to this

Obama extended the Bush tax cuts. If you look at the chart unemployment went down under those tax cuts.

    Inequality in America
The rich, the poor and the growing gap between them
The rich are the big gainers in America's new prosperity

It's an interesting read. Note thay Americans don't care about the gap in incomes as long as there exists an opportunity for them to work hard and achieve their own wealth and success. You can't do that in an economy burdened by government which has been Obama's way. I believe America has reached a tipping point where government has become too much of a burden consuming too much of our wealth and weighing us down with too much regulation. If we are going to turn things around we need to reverse the trend of the last 100 years.

Obama ran into the Tea Party and they are the most unrealistic politicians ever. To sign a pledge that you will never raise taxes is totally unrealistic. Now listen to me carefully the Democrats including Obama and the Republicans are running a game on the American people. They try to keep your mind on their bull**** and off important issues. I fought for this country and you know I'm now ashamed of what it has become. I think we should throw all of the Republicans and Democrats out of office and start over with a party that would be for America first and to hell with the rest of the world.

We can not continue to play police to the world. It just will never work.

They sent almost all textile jobs over seas. Have you seen the American south where the textile mills used to be. Their are ghost towns all over the American south but no politician is talking about this.

Have you been to down town New Orleans where 15.000 people live under bridges. And many of these people are women and children.

It makes me mad as hell at the average American Politician. Democrat or Republican because you know what the average politician is only interested in more of the same. Political infighting that is never going to fix anything. We need to say to hell with the political parties and out and out ban career politicians. And the lobbyists need to go as well. They need to be banned from Washington DC and any elected politician who takes money from them needs to be fired.

America is broken and no one wants to fix it. They just want to keep playing the same old political games. Kind of reminds me of Nero fiddling while Rome burned.

"They sent almost all textile jobs over seas."

      Who? Big business, that's who.
They blame the gvt and unions.

      I blame their greed.

And WE the tax-payes subsidized all of it.

Pay them to take jobs away, then pay them a huge price for what cost them pennies to make.

      What is the scam here?

  9. crazyhorsesghost profile image69
    crazyhorsesghostposted 12 years ago

The politicians from both parties allowed it to happen. And passed NAFTA.

It is the fault of both political parties that this happened. We should have had politicians who would stand up and say no we are not going to send our jobs over seas. We should be for America first and to hell with the rest of the world.

But the average person doesn't want to lay the blame where it belongs. And that is with both the Republican and Democrat Parties. Who keep the American people fighting with each other so they won't ask the politicians of both parties real questions. If they can keep you fighting with each other they can keep lining their pockets.
