What are your highest priorities when voting for President?
I ask because I believe many people have, well, odd priorities for lack of a better term. Example: An 18 year old employee of mine voted for the first time in 2008. His reason for NOT voting for McCain was because McCain apparently spoke out against MMA (mixed martial arts, aka Ultimate Fighting, etc.).
Personally, how much money the Federal government takes from ME (i.e. tax policy) and what they do with that money (i.e. government spending, federal budget, social programs) are primary concerns. Of course, individual issues overlap quite a bit, which makes it difficult to focus on one. That is to say, it's difficult to discuss foreign affairs and military commitments without addressing funding through taxes. You can't discuss health insurance revisions without addressing tort reform. Economic issues are often intimately tied to social issues. Etc.
Can priorities be made? What are yours?
