Yep, his head was on a stake. Is this okay with Dems?

Huh?  I must have missed it.  I have watched every episode of Game of Thrones.

    I googled and found this:

George W. Bush was recently voted the most unpopular American President ever. Just how much do people hate him? Here's an example - HBO drama Game Of Thrones used Dubya's likeness in a gruesome scene featuring the decapitated enemies of the villainous King Joffrey.

Joffrey has his enemies killed and their heads displayed on stakes. This particular scene features rows of such heads on stakes, one of which is the erstwhile President's. Dubya's head also appears in more than one beheading scene in the series.

On the DVD commentary for Game Of Thrones, creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss explain that Dubya's likeness was used out of necessity, saying: "It's not a choice. It's not a political statement. It's just we had to use whatever heads we had around."

They have since apologised: "We can't afford to have [prosthetic body parts] made from scratch, especially in scenes where we need a lot of them, so we rent them in bulk. After the scene was already shot, someone pointed out that one of the heads looked like George W. Bush ... We meant no disrespect to the former President and apologize if anything we said or did suggested otherwise.

HBO has also apologised after the story went viral, saying: "We were deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste ... We are sorry this happened and will have it removed from any future DVD production."

I'm glad they apologized. I was just wondering what Dems thought of it. I didn't think that you would approve of this sort of thing, PP, but some on the left would be all for it. Just try to imagine what would happen if it had been Obama instead of W. It would be all over the news!

Yeah, I think it's in poor taste and shouldn't have happened.

It has been all over the news. And I agree, using a living person depicted that way is in very bad taste.

I haven't seen it on the TV news, but to be honest, I haven't watched the tube much for the last day or two.

I agree in poor taste. And I'm sure Some Democrats would be all for it. But had it been Obama, Some Republicans would be all for it. And to be honest, it's not news worthy. We have more important problems to deal with. These are just distractions by both Parties.

Yep, there are plenty who hate Obama, too. I really don't understand bitter hatred. Maybe I'm just too lazy to invest the required intensity. lol

Just a technical note: You have to be careful copying and pasting too much of an article. This could be considered plagiarism.

Hey habee & Pretty Panther  thanks for the heads up. I must  admit, I question whether using the likeness of Mr. Bush was truly accidental before all the fuss..
I shutter to think what the outcome would be in the event Mr. Obama was disrespected in such a way.
Be well and enjoy your day:)

The head doesn't look like Bush and the view is from behind. Only because during the commentary was the head related to Bush 43. Here's the picture - unrecognizable -

Now they said Bush I can see a slight resemblance...but it would never have occurred to me that that was meant to be him otherwise.
