The Truth about Barack Obama

Bible Prophecy fulfilled during the End Time?

Bible Prophecy of a Wicked Politician

"Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon." (Rev. 13:11)

In prophetic Scriptures the word "beast" is used figuratively of a corrupted and ungodly man (Ecc. 3:18; 2 Pet. 2:12; Jude 10). Hence, the apostle Paul wrote: "I have fought with beasts at Ephesus" (1 Cor. 15:32). The apostle John's prophecy describes a powerful man who will emerge in the world during the End Time. This man has " two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon." The lamb is a symbol of a weak Christian (Jn. 21:15). In biblical prophecy the horns represent the power of wicked kingdoms (Dan. 7:7-8; Rev. 13:1). The "dragon" point to the "Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Rev. 12:9). The devil "does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." (Jn. 8:44)

The Bible prophecy that states "he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon" can refer to a wicked politician who claims to be a Christian but tells lies in order to gain political power to rule a nation.

The revelation that John received evokes the image of a false Christian who has risen in power. He has a charming and engaging personality. He is an erudite and eloquent orator but also a great deceiver of the American public.

Barack Obama is not a true Christian and he definitely preaches a false and perverted gospel

The Lord Jesus Christ said: "Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." (Mt. 7:21). One of the tests of a true Christian is to see whether or not the person keeps God's Commandments (Mt. 5:17-19).

Obama contends belief in Jesus Christ is not necessary for salvation

AP - 3/27/2008 8:00:00 AM

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senator Barack Obama has told an audience that although he believes Christ died for his sins, those who reject that teaching can also be children of God.

During a campaign stop yesterday in Greensboro, North Carolina, Senator Obama told the audience that he believes he "can have everlasting life" because Jesus Christ died for his sins. But he then told a questioner that he believes Jews and Muslims who live moral lives are just as much "children of God" as he is. (listen to audio clip)

The Illinois Democrat added that his late mother didn't share his faith but was a kind and generous person, so he's "sure she's in heaven." (listen to audio clip)

Barack Obama is preaching a false gospel about the Lord Jesus Christ. If Jews and Muslims who do not believe the Lord Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh and do not accept Him as their Lord and Savior are also called "Children of God" then Jesus died on the Cross in vain. The Lord Jesus Christ warned: "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." (Jn. 8:24) The Holy Bible states: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name." (Jn. 1:12) "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus." (Gal. 3:27) "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments." (1 Jn. 5:2).

Jesus Christ said it very clearly and plainly: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (Jn. 14:6) No one can become the children of God without believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Barack Obama is lying about the faith of his own mother. He claimed that he was raised as a Christian, and now he says that his mother "didn't share his faith but was a kind and generous person, so he's "sure she's in heaven." This is a false gospel. The Bible states: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Eph. 2:8)

No one can be saved by being "a kind and generous person" and go to heaven without believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and be washed in His precious blood (Rev. 7:9, 13-17).

Barack Obama is preaching a perverted gospel of Christ (Gal. 1:6-7). "But even we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed." (Gal. 1:8-9)

Barack Obama is not only a dangerous politician, he is also a very dangerous preacher who destroys souls and leads them to hell. Do not be deceived by this liar.

Barack Obama's Beliefs are against the Teachings of Christ

Partial birth abortion is the murder of babies when they are very close to being born. This is a mortal sin. The baby is killed by sucking out its brain while it is in the birth canal. Please go to this web page that describes Partial Birth Abortion. http://www.abortioninfo.net/facts/pba.shtml

Barack Obama voted against banning Partial Birth Abortion. (Oct 2007)

He voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions. (Jul 2006)

He voted YES on $100M to reduce teen pregnancy by education & contraceptives. (Mar 2005)

Barack Obama plainly supports abortion, even though it is the leading cause of death among African-Americans more than heart disease, more than AIDS, and more than violent crime. Abortion is a targeted measure by the devil to wipe out minorities in America. Barack Obama's stance on abortion alone should be enough to discourage any Christian from voting for him but let's look at his voting record concerning the marriage amendment, which would define and protect marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

Vote 163: On the Cloture Motion: A Senate cloture vote on the gay marriage amendment failed, effectively killing the amendment. Obama voted NO

Obama's comments came three days after he released a 770-word letter to the homosexual community, pledging to partner with them in passing favorable laws if he is elected.

"As your President, I will use the bully pulpit to urge states to treat same-sex couples with full equality in their family and adoption laws," he wrote. "I personally believe that civil unions represent the best way to secure that equal treatment. But I also believe that the federal government should not stand in the way of states that want to decide on their own how best to pursue equality for gay and lesbian couples -- whether that means a domestic partnership, a civil union, or a civil marriage.

"... I believe that we can achieve the goal of full equality for the millions of LGBT people in this country," he said further, referring to the acronym for lesbian, gays, bisexual and transgendered. "To do that, we need leadership that can appeal to the best parts of the human spirit. Join with me, and I will provide that leadership. Together, we will achieve real equality for all Americans, gay and straight alike."

Barack Obama supports the union of same sex marriages. While Christians should not persecute people based on their sexual orientation but they should not support homosexuality by endorsing gay and lesbian marriages. It would bring the judgment upon this nation (Rom. 1:24-32)

Barack Obama made conflicting statements

A sermon from his pastor Jeremiah Wright shortly after the September 11, 2001, terrorism attacks is also under scrutiny. In it he said America had brought on the attacks with its own practice of terrorism.

"We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye," he said. "We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant. Because the stuff we have done overseas has now brought right back into our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost."

In his statement Friday, Obama said he had not personally heard the controversial sermons.

"When these statements first came to my attention, it was at the beginning of my presidential campaign. I made it clear at the time that I strongly condemned his comments," Obama wrote. "But because Rev. Wright was on the verge of retirement, and because of my strong links to the Trinity faith community, where I married my wife and where my daughters were baptized, I did not think it appropriate to leave the church."

And in a 2003 sermon, Wright said of America's treatment of African-Americans: "The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people."God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."

Barack Obama said: "The statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity or heard him utter in private conversation."

Obama is trying to extricate himself from the crisis prompted by the surfacing of racially inflammatory sermons preached by his spiritual mentor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the senior pastor at Trinity United Chuch of Christ on Chicago's South Side.

Obama admitted in his speech that he personally heard some of Wright's fiery rhetoric. "Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in the church? Yes."

On Friday, Obama, in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, Obama said something different. "I'll be honest with you. I wasn't in church when any of those sermons were issued."

Obama probably made that admission in his speech knowing that reporters were trying to determine if he was in church for one of Wright's divisive missives. He contradicted himself over and over again.

It is completely irrelevant whether Barack Obama had heard his pastor's inflammatory sermons while sitting on the pews during a church service, or heard it from somebody, somewhere else at another time. The fact is that Barack Obama has been a prominent member of that church for twenty years, and he has done nothing to either correct his pastor's distorted views on race and this country, raises doubts about his character, sense of judgment, trustworthiness and leadership to be the president of the United States of America.

Obama’s Muslim Roots

There is a lot of information concerning Barack Obama's connection with Islam that his campaign does not want the rivals and the American public to know. We should be objective and fair in our assessment of him and try to separate fact from fiction. Here is the truth that can be verified.

Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His father is an African Muslim named Barack Hussein Obama Sr. who is from Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya. His mother is a White atheist named Ann Dunham of Wichita, Kansas.

Obama's father, stepfather, brother and grandfather were all Muslims. He explained his own first name, Barack, in "Dreams": "It means ‘Blessed' in Arabic. My grandfather was a Muslim."

Obama's middle name Hussein is also a Muslim name. It was given to him by his father Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. Obama and his campaign do not like anyone to use the name "Hussein" because it is a Muslim name and it also has bad association with the former dictator of Iraq - Saddam Hussein.

In his second memoir, "The Audacity of Hope," Obama added: "Although my father had been raised a Muslim, by the time he met my mother he was a confirmed atheist." This claim is highly questionable because Muslims would kill any apostate that renounced Islam. Barack Obama lied about his father.

Still, when his father, a black Kenyan Muslim named Barack Obama Sr., died in 1982, "the family wanted a Muslim burial," Obama quoted his brother, Roy, as saying in "Dreams."

When Obama was two years old his parents divorced and his father returned to Kenya. His mother married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian Muslim as well. His mother seemed to have an inexplicable attraction for non-American and non-white Muslim men whom she was married to two of them.

Barack Obama claims he was raised by his mother as a Christian. This claim is doubtful and questionable. Why would a committed Christian woman be married to two Muslim men, one after the other? Why is there no record of Obama's mother being a practicing Christian in the Church? If Barack Obama was raised as a Christian from childhood why would he have to wait until adulthood to join a Christian church? Many claims of Barack Obama do not make sense and are hard to believe.

In 1967, the Soetoro family moved to Jakarta, Indonesia where Obama was known as Barry Soetoro, and he remained there from age 6 to 10.

Obama attended first grade at a Catholic elementary school near his home, St. Francis of Assisi Foundation School, which accepted students of any religion.

His first-grade teacher Israella Dharmawan told the Los Angeles Times: "At that time, Barry was also praying in a Catholic way, but Barry was Muslim. He was registered as a Muslim because his father was Muslim."

In the third grade, Obama transferred to a public school, where he was also registered as a Muslim.

Muslim students at the school attended weekly religion lessons about Islam, taught by a Muslim.

In his autobiography, "Dreams From My Father," Obama mentions studying the Quran and describes the public school as "a Muslim school."

Boyhood friend Adi said Obama occasionally went to Friday prayers at a local mosque.

"We prayed but not really seriously, just following actions done by older people in the mosque," he told the Los Angeles Times.

Barack Obama's official statement that he had never been a Muslim in all his life is a big lie.

Obama's Muslim Connection

By Jon Christian Ryter * January 16, 2008 * NewsWithViews.com

When Obama's early history and his Islamic upbringing was first reported, Obama's website posted a statement dated Nov. 12, 2007 with the headline: "Barack Obama is Not and Has Never Been a Muslim." The statement reiterated that Obama was not a Muslim, was not raised as a Muslim, and is a committed Christian.

On Dec. 22 at the Smoky Row Coffee Shop in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the locals asked Obama about his Muslim roots. He said: "My father was from Kenya. A lot of people in his village were Muslim. He didn't practice Islam. Truth is, he wasn't very religious." That was a lie. Obama's father and stepfather were devout Islamics. Both faithfully practiced their religion. His stepfather, who had a much greater impact on Obama's upbringing, was a radical Wahabbi Muslim. "My mother was a Christian from Kansas." That was also a lie. Obama's mother, his maternal grandmother and grandfather were all atheists. "They married and then divorced. I was raised by my mother. So, I've always been a Christian. The only connection I've had to Islam is that my grandfather on my father's side came from that country. But I've never practiced Islam...For a while I lived in Indonesia because my mother was teaching there. And that's a Muslim country. And I went to school-but I didn't practice Islam." Another lie. Obama's mother married Lolo Soetoro, a Wahabbi extremist who lived in Indonesia. When Obama's mother moved to Indonesia-before she married her second Muslim husband-she enrolled her son in Francis Assisis Catholic School. He was enrolled as a Muslim because he was a Muslim. The enrollment form required each student to choose one of five state-sanctioned religions when enrolling: Buddhist, Catholic, Hindu, Muslim, or Protestant. Had he been a lifelong Christian, or even a recent convert, he-or his mother-would have circled Protestant.

When confronted with this information, Obama said he couldn't understand how such an error could have happened. Los Angeles Times reporter Paul Watson, who dug into Obama's allegation of error, said "...his former Roman Catholic and Muslim teachers, along with two people who were identified by Obama's grade school teacher as childhood friends, says Obama was registered by his family as a Muslim at both schools he attended. The registration meant that during the third and fourth grades, Obama learned about Islam for two hours each week in religion classes. The childhood friends say Obama sometimes went to Friday prayers at the local mosque." (Something else Obama claims he never did.) "...Obama's younger sister, Maya Soetoro, said in a statement released by the campaign that the family attended the mosque only 'for big communal events' not every Friday." Obama, who belongs to a church that teaches that the Muslims of the world were wronged by both Israel and the United States, cannot afford to be labeled as a "Muslim" by voters who expect the United States to win the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan where their sons and daughters are being killed by Muslims.

Barack Obama is very well supported by Islamic Americans

In December 2007, the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) the church that Barack Obama has been a member for twenty years, bestowed its highest social achievement award upon Louis Farrakhan, the head of the Nation of Islam. This was facilitated through the church's publication Trumpet Magazine and presented at their end of the year awards gala. The award dubbed the Lifetime Achievement "Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. Trumpet" Award is named after the head pastor that married Barack and Michele Obama nee Robinson.

Farrakhan praised Obama before a large Nation of Islam gathering, even comparing him to the religion's founder, Wallace D. Fard Muhammad, who Farrakhan claims also had a white mother and black father.

"A black man with a white mother became a savior to us," Farrakhan said Sunday. "A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall."

The Obama campaign has been quick to distance itself from Farrakhan."Senator Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan's past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister's support." A Obama spokesperson said, but Islamic Americans support Barack Obama's presidential candidacy.

There are about 3.5 million Arab Americans. According to a 2007 Zogby poll 62 percent of Arab Americans vote Democratic and 25 percent vote Republican. A few days before Super Tuesday, the Arabs took an electronic straw poll, sponsored by Al Jazeera an Arabic satellite channel. The viewers - who are for the most part Arabs or interested in Arab affairs - were asked to vote electronically for their choice for U.S. president. A majority of Arabs, 61 percent, voted for Obama as their number 1 choice. One of the main reasons for the Arab's choice for Barack Obama as the U.S. president is his Islamic heritage. Another reason is his stance on the war in Iraq and also the quick withdrawal of U.S. troops.

Barack Obama's strong opposition to the war in Iraq could be due to his Islamic roots and also not wanting America to fight against the people of his heritage.

Barack Obama places his hands in the wrong place during the singing of the National Anthem. He is not electable and not fit to be the president of the United States.

I'm not one to try to interpret Biblical prophecy, but as soon as I heard that Obama supported "partial birth abortion," I knew I didn't like him.

I won't say everything in your hub is not true but I think you are seeing what you want to see. I'm sure I won't convince you of anything else but Snopes has taken a good long look at many of the mistruths spread about Obama and his "Muslim background". I do ask that you keep an open mind with Obama. You don't have to vote for him but there's a good chance he will be out next President.

I am also curious is Hillary Clinton also not a true Christian? While I'm not a fan of abortion I also find it hard to outright condemn anyone who is pro-choice or to judge anyone forced with the tough decision of having an abortion or not.

arkwriter,

In any case, you are absolutely right in your statement that "truth triumphs over lies." Interesting HUB, it seems as if you have done a considerable amount of research with references to back up your claims, unlike others I have read.

This Democratic Primary is getting so chaotic that it is difficult to see clearly which candidate will be the presidential nominee.  Barack Obama may be having the popular votes and delegates, but Hillary Clinton is having more superdelegates and it is the superdelegates who will make the final decision of choosing the nominee.  If the superdelegates choose Hillary Clinton the Democrates will be split asunder.  It is going to be an ugly scenerio.

The situation with the Democratic Primary places the voters with two difficult choices between an African-American and a female that polarizes the voters who are either racists or feminists.  What a mess!

From the Christian perspective neither Obama or Hillary is ideal for the presidency.  They are both pro-choice and pandering to the gay and lesbian votes.  Obama is an eloquent speaker but he has not really accomplished much in the Senate.  Hillary has done only a little bit more but not much.

Barack Obama just "talk the talk" but John McCain "walk the walk".  The clear choice for the presidency is John McCain who is a true American patriot and hero.  If you read about his sacrifice while captured by the Vietcongs (communists) you will truly admire his character.  He refused to be released by his captors when they found out he is the son and grandson of admirals.  He insisted that he did not want to have more favorable treatment that is different from the other American POWs so that the enemy would use the incident for propaganda purposes.

We should vote for the best person who will serve America, and not for the first African-American or the first female president.

May God bless you,

I agree completely. I have thought for a long time that he was to slick. BO has been groomed for the position of president by someone. This grooming began along time ago. It is a frightening thought that someone who has an agenda an agenda that could be dreadful. When everything in our country is such amess. Right now the president has more personal control than any other president ever has. We should think about possible motives.I wish I knew more about that preacher man.

Thank you for writing even though you completely disagree with my hub "The Truth about Barack Obama".  America is a great nation and we are free to express our views.

Obama will be the Democratic nominee if the Superdelegates think he is electable, which he isn't.  He is all "talk the talk" and no "walk the walk".  As Shakespeare wrote: "He is full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."  Many Obama's supporters were asked this one simple question. "Besides his high-sounding speeches, can you name some important things that Barack Obama has done for America."  They couldn't!  Can you?

Barack Obama has been invited by Bill O'Relly to the No Spin Zone to answer questions, but he was afraid to do so.  In the past few months the media has been very soft on him, and that made him looked good. Now he is feeling a little bit of the heat from the Media.

That racist "God damn America" uncle, pastor and spiritual adviser of Barack Obama for twenty years has taught him how to tell lies with a straight face.  It is a shame that so many young people just turned 18 don't have a clue about what America needs in a president. They are enamored by the slogan "Change we can believe in." They have been deceived into voting for a change, and do not know what change there is. My fellow hubbers, don't be fooled by all this rhetoric and sweet talk.

I am not against an African-American man or a woman to become the president of the United States. I am very much against a liar and a deceiver holding the highest office of the United States.  There are two exceptionally truthful and honest black officials, a man and a woman, who are highly qualified to run for the office of the presidency.  If former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell were to run for the presidency I would vote for him.  Even the present Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice is better qualified to be the President than Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Both Powell and Rice have served the United States and accomplished much, much more than Obama and Hillary put together.

Obama and Clinton are now both fighting and tearing each other apart.  By the time the Democrats have their convention they will still be fighting each other to death.  A lot of Democrats are really fed up with this war of words that is destructive of the character.

Dear writerlady, you can write all you want about "Obama for president".  It ain't gonna happen.  Don't be deceived.  Just read again "The Truth about Barack Obama" and let it sink into your head.  May God bless you and guide you

Oh by the way, here is one of the other ones that your buddies have been sending... http://hubpages.com/hub/truthaboutobamaThis is coming from someone who thinks Obama is the anti-christ because he is a MUSLIM (which he has emphatically and repeatedly denied and given the exact same story every time I have heard him speak despite your weak sources which are from the GOP version of The National Enquirer). Maybe you and he both, should purchase a history book so that you guys could understand that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin did not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ either? They were clearly (by their on words) Diests... they believed that our universe had a Creator, but they did not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ, which would make them "ANTI-CHRISTIAN." EWWWW... maybe they were the anti-Christ? You can do an article about that next week. Especially considering that these men founded a free and open society that granted all of us freedom and security and respected each religion and our ability to worship as we pleased and that Republic was built in the midst of a time, where the Christian Churches had just come not too far from the "DARK AGES" where the church itself would literally put you into a dungeoun and rip the skin off of your back for saying anything in opposition to their doctrine, so that maybe we would do well not only to not follow your "FORUMULAS FOR SUCCESS IN GOVERNMENT" .... But to turn and run the other direction as fast as we possibly can, in order to keep lunatics like you far away from Washington.Do you really think that all Americans are as stupid as you think, that they can be lead around blindly by their NOSE? I will not donate one cent to your childish commercial and if anything you are doing nothing but smearing the Republican ideals and principals, and disgracing the historic tradition of the party, and you should be ashamed of yourself. GEORGE WASHINGTON:

In a letter to Rev. B.C.C. Parker of Massachusetts, dated Nov. 28, 1832, in answer to some inquiries respecting Washington's religion, Bishop White says:

"His behavior [in church] was always serious and attentive, but as your letter seems to intend an inquiry on the point of kneeling during the service, I owe it to the truth to declare that I never saw him in the said attitude. ... Although I was often in company with this great man, and had the honor of dining often at his table, I never heard anything from him which could manifest his opinions on the subject of religion. ... Within a few days of his leaving the presidential chair, our vestry waited on him with an address prepared and delivered by me. In his answer he was pleased to express himself gratified by what he had heard from our pulpit; but there was nothing that committed him relatively to religious theory" ("Memoir of Bishop White," pp. 189-191; Sparks' "Life of Washington," Vol. ii., p. 359).

The Rev. Parker, to whom Bishop White's letter is addressed, was, it seems, anxious to obtain some evidence that Washington was a believer in Christianity, and, not satisfied with the bishop's answer, begged him, it would appear, to tax his mind for some fact that would tend to show that Washington was a believer. In a letter dated Dec. 21, 1832, the bishop writes as follows:

"I do not believe that any degree of recollection will bring to my mind any fact which would prove General Washington to have been a believer in the Christian revelation further than as may be hoped from his constant attendance upon Christian worship, in connection with the general reserve of his character" ("Memoir of Bishop White," p. 193).

THOMAS JEFFERSON:

"Equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever persuasion, religious or political." -- Thomas Jefferson, 1801.

"Fix Reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve the homage of reason than of blindfolded fear. ... Do not be frightened from this inquiry by any fear of its consequences. If it end in a belief that there is no God, you will find incitements to virtue in the comfort and pleasantness you feel in its exercise and in the love of others which it will procure for you" (Jefferson's Works, Vol. ii., p. 217).

"Keep in your eye the opposite pretensions: First, of those who say he was begotten by God, born of a virgin, suspended and reversed the laws of Nature at will, and ascended bodily into heaven; and second, of those who say he was a man of illegitimate birth, of a benevolent heart, enthusiastic mind, who set out without pretensions to divinity, ended in believing them, and was punished capitally for sedition by being gibbeted, according to the Roman law, which punished the first commission of that offence by whipping, and the second by exile or death in furea."

His own opinion respecting the above is expressed in a letter to John Adams, written a short time previous to his death:

"The day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the Supreme Being as his father, in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter" (Works, Vol. iv, p. 365).

In the gospel history of Jesus, Jefferson discovers what he terms "a groundwork of vulgar ignorance, of things impossible, of superstitions, fanaticism, and fabrications" (Works, Vol. iv, p. 325).

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN:

In his letter to Ezra Stiles, he extols the system of morals taught by "Jesus of Nazareth," but says, "I apprehend it has received various corrupting changes, and I have, with most of the Dissenters in England, doubts as to his divinity."

Dr. Franklin and Dr. Priestley were intimate friends. Of Franklin, Priestley writes:

"It is much to be lamented that a man of Franklin's general good character and great influence should have been an unbeliever in Christianity, and also have done as much as he did to make others unbelievers" (Priestley's Autobiography, p. 60).

Theodore Parker, who made a study of Franklin's religious opinions, writes:

"If belief in the miraculous revelation of the Old Testament and the New is required to make a man religious, then Franklin had no religion at all. It would be an insult to say that he believed in the popular theology of his time, or of ours, for. I find not a line from his pen indicating any such belief."

Have a nice day sir... this country will be much better off if nobody were to listen to your idiotic political theories and ideas, which are based in lies, fear and bigotry.

I love it when people cite Revelation when referring to Obama, and inferring that he's the antichrist or something. I read it, though, and I missed the part where it said, "And the charismatic black man from Illinois will occupy the house of white in the District of Columbia, and then you'll know the end is nigh."

I just have to say how hysterical it is that this black man being so close to holding the highest office in the land has so many of you backwards Bible-thumping yokels in a tizzy. Normally a person would have to pay for this sort of entertainment. Thank you.

I think this guy is a very dangerous person! And could be the lamb like beast, spoken by aniea the prophet!

Something is very wrong here. He draws over 200,000 people in Germany! He is just a 2 year Senator running for president!

I pray that I am wrong!

Yawn - of course people who are atheists like to quote Franklin who had a good deal to say about atheism. He believed in a personal Creator and that a divine providence ruled - and had a great favorability to Christianity in all its sects.

Benjamin Franklin founded the University of Pennsylvania, signed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States, and was Governor of the state of Pennsylvania.

As Governor, Franklin in 1748 proposed a day of fasting and prayer for Pennsylvania:

It is the duty of mankind on all suitable occasions to acknowledge their dependence on the Divine Being...[that] Almighty God would mercifully interpose and still the rage of war among the nations...[and that] He would take this province under His protection, confound the designs and defeat the attempts of its enemies, and unite our hearts and strengthen our hands in every undertaking that may be for the public good, and for our defense and security in this time of danger.

Here are some noteworthy excerpts from Franklin's Autobiography:

I have been religiously educated as a Presbyterian; and ... I was never without religious principles.

I never doubted, for instance, the existence of the Deity; that he made the world, and governed it by his Providence; that the most acceptable service of God was the doing good to man; that our souls are immortal; and that all crime will be punished, and virtue reward, either here or hereafter.

These I esteemed the essentials of every religion; and, being to be found in all the religions we had in our country, I respected them all, though with different degrees of respect, as I found them more or less mixed with other articles, which without any tendency to inspire, promote, or confirm morality, served principally to divide us, and made us unfriendly on one another.

This respect of all...induced me to avoid all discourse that might tend to lessen the good opinion another might have of his own religion; and as our province increased in people, and new places of worship were continually wanted, and generally erected by voluntary contribution, my mite for such purpose, whatever might be the sect, was never refused.

Though I seldom attended any public worship, I had still an opinion of its propriety, and of its utility when rightly conducted, and I regularly paid my annual subscription for the support of the only Presbyterian minister or meeting we had in Philadelphia. He used to visit me sometimes as a friend, and admonish me to attend his administration.

In July of 1776, the Congress appointed Franklin to a committee charted to develop a seal for the new United States of America -- a seal that would capture the spirit and character of the new nation. This is what Franklin proposed:

Moses lifting up his wand, and dividing the Red Sea, and Pharaoh in his chariot overwhelmed with the waters. This motto: 'Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God.'

Here's what Franklin wrote in a letter dated March 1778 to the Ministry of France:

Whoever shall introduce into public affairs the principals of primitive Christianity will change the face of the world.

In addition, Franklin wrote:

A Bible and a newspaper in every house, a good school in every district -- all studied and appreciated as they merit -- are the principal support of virtue, morality, and civil liberty.

In a pamphlet titled Information to Those Who Would Remove to America, written for Europeans who were considering coming to America, Franklin made these observations:

Hence bad examples to youth are more rare in America, which must be a comfortable consideration to parents. To this may be truly added, that serious religion, under its various denominations, is not only tolerated, but respected and practiced.

Atheism is unknown there; infidelity rare and secret; so that persons may live to a great age in that country without having their piety shocked by meeting with either an Atheist or an Infidel.

And the Divine Being seems to have manifested his approbation of the mutual forbearance and kindness with which the different sects treat each other; by the remarkable prosperity with which he has been pleased to favor the whole country.

On June 28, 1787, the Constitutional Convention was deadlocked and embroiled in bitter controversy. Benjamin Franklin rose and made the following plea to the delegates:

In the beginning of the Contest with Great Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayer in this room for the Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending providence in our favor.

To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful Friend? Or do we imagine we no longer need His assistance?

I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth -- that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?

We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings, that 'except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it.' I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages ...

I therefore beg leave to move -- that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessing on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business, and that one or more of the clergy of this city be requested to officiate in that service.

Even though it has happened,i did not vote for Barack Hussein Obama for president.I have learned so much about his shady history that hasnt been brought to light that it chills me thinking what lies ahead for our nation. What have the American people done. There are too many discrepencies with his religious background. The American people were so desperate to usher the Bush Era out of the White House that we failed to see the wolf in sheeps clothing.

You and your beliefs are just totally out of touch with time. I vanot understand how easily influenced the majority people on this site commented on how much they agree with you and your idiotic thoughts and prophecies. He is a man and not some type of mythical anti-Christ. This country is in dire straights and unfortunately for President Obama, he inherited a soon to be failing empire, due to the selfishness and greed of corporate America. If anyone is to be the so called anti-Christ, I think a lot of you need to look in the mirror.

I just wanted to ask if anyone has ever declare Obama as lord and savior?

that would answer all my concerns, Not if he has a personal relationship or belives in God, I am sure satan qualifies for both these things but he will never declare Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior, and has anyone ever heard him admit to being a sinner?

A true Christian would have no shame in declaring Christ Jesus Lord and savior, it's a nice scapegoat excuse to simply say I have a personal Relationship with God, I am glad that Paul the apostle or Jesus Christ himself nevr used this selfish excuse to keep Gods good grace from the rest of us.

I have a question. I believe in Rapture. Do you think that Revelation 13 is post rapture event?

We are surely not in great tribulation yet.

Just wanted to comment on Barack Obama....The first time that I even heard his name there was this sinking feeling that this guy was bad for America and then when I began to hear more about him and what his policies were I knew that there was good reason to not trust anything this person was saying....I don't care if he is black, purple , or white...His policies were the key to my not voting for him...In fact I do not regard him as President, at least not mine and I call him Mr. Obama not President Obama.....I have a very strong dislike for him and liberals period....Everything he says and does is anti-god and anti-bible.....He disgusts me!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of truth in the above picture, the star spangled banner was playing not the national anthem get your facts straight. The fact that your qouting from a 2,000 year old fictional book to explain the actions of a U.S. president and people acually believe you shows everything that is wrong with this country.

I will truthfully say I did not read this whole article, but I do want to comment on his photo being turned away from the flag. I saved it to my hard drive, I opened in a graphic program (I did go to college for digital photography so I'm not just jumping to conclusions) but when I zoomed in closely to the surroundings of the presidents suit, there are white spots. That is prime of a cut n' paste in which the person did not shade in a color. Do the test yourself then ask if he was really there the day of that photo. And the Bible clearly speaks in many places that there will be many false profits in the end. -just sayin'..

Obama is the epitome of opaque, a man who is full of deception. He's about as Christian, as much as the devil is one. No true Christian would condone evil Islam, homosexuality, murder aka abortion. No true Christian would twist scriptures as Obama does.

Proverbs 26:23-26, 28 Smooth words may hide a wicked heart, just as a pretty glaze covers a clay pot. People may cover their hatred with pleasant words,

but they’re deceiving you. They pretend to be kind, but don’t believe them.Their hearts are full of many evils. While their hatred may be concealed by trickery,

their wrongdoing will be exposed in public. A lying tongue hates its victims and flattering words cause ruin.
