I'm a full-time writer, publishing short stories, plays and other creative works. My most recent play, History Remembers, debuted at a community theater workshop in suburban Philadelphia.
I'm also a human rights activist. Although I'm not Jewish, I joined a group of Columbia University alumni and others who continue to raise awareness about the University's hosting of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on campus last September.
I'm a strong supporter of Israel, which I see as the only moral force in the Middle East. If the terrorists would just leave Israel alone, she would never make war on her neighbors.
People are surprised to see me, a non-Jewish, African-American woman standing firmly with Israel. But I don't know why. I have nothing but respect for the Jews and what they've accomplished as a much persecuted minority.
Just because much of the world condemns Israel doesn't make them right. The Romans persecuted and ultimately killed Jesus. But it didn't make them right either.
