Anders Fischer on HubPages

Anders is a recent graduate of Montreal's McGill University, holding a Bachelors of Arts in English - Cultural Studies. He opted for the cultural studies stream over the more traditional and more limited literature option because he was intrigued by the scope of the program. Covering the mechanics of literature, film, television, theatre and even videogames, cultural studies taught him more about the logistics of storytelling than a strictly literary focus ever could.

Now, he works as a freelance writer and aspiring author in San Francisco. Favoring a sardonic wit and being particularly adept at character development, he continues to refine his style while working on personal projects that often find their way here.

He has also written a novel, entitled Phantasmorifica. This parody of fantasy and adventure stories focuses on specific genre conventions for a baroque re-creation of the archetypal epic fantasy narrative. It is approximately 150,000 words long and in need of representation from a literary agent.

Included here is a selection of short stories, analytical essays and reviews that demonstrate a cheeky, but often erudite, style from a goofy and occasionally absurdist writer with a great passion for the craft and enthusiasm for the industry.
