Hi, I'm Average Jane and I have diverse interests, but all of them seem to center on one thing - frugality and getting the most out of my hard earned money.

Growing up, I didn't have a hard life - I came from an upper-middle class family and didn't exactly want for a lot of things. In fact, my parents gave me most of the things I could want or need. However, both my parents came from poor families. They taught me the value of money and how to spend wisely. This was a great help to me when I finally set out on my own.

Most of the tips I'd like to share are some of the things they taught me or have learned on my own (and through hard lessons too!). I love to travel and I would say this is the biggest expense I have right now - I value experiences and seeing new things, so I think spending my hard-earned dollars on travel is worth it, rather than buying that new car or going on a shopping spree.
