Cool - thanks for caring about little old me.
OK, so yep - you guessed it - I'm a guitarist.
I'm not a guitar god though - I'm just like you - or - I was just like you...
I learned guitar by myself from books and courses... and believe me when I say I did everything the hard (some would say stupid) way...
I was a cheater.
I looked for all the short cuts, made all the crazy time wasting mistakes...
I remember buying my first guitar...
It was a monstrosity with a neck so warped it made..I can't come up with of a good metaphor but you get the idea...
Anyway, I was delighted with my purchase - raced home - got the strings on and realised my brand spanking new guitar was broken - that's right - the silly thing didn't even work...
Imagine elastic bands being plucked on a rusty biscuit tin and you'll get an idea of what it sounded like...
So I went out and bought a 'learn guitar in 7 days' book to help me fix the problem...
Guess what?
After 8 days I was still nowhere near mastery.
It turned out the book lied - so I bought another book - this time I purchased the more sensible "Learn Guitar in 30 Days"
It seemed like a lot of boring practice so I went back to doing what I did best - making a horrible racket while my Dad shouted -SHUT UP!!!
Well, to cut a long story short, I did eventually find the secret to learning guitar...
There is NO secret - but thankfully there are shortcuts...
