I am a recently divorced father of two boys. I was married for 12 years to a woman who I believe suffers from Bipolar Disorder. Statistics show that the divorce rate for people married to a bipolar spouse is 90%. I never wanted to be in that divorce category. I fought divorce as hard as I could.  

Over the last 2 years I have read about Bipolar Disorder and have learned much. Bipolar sufferers have a distorted sense of reality. When confronted with logic and facts they dismiss them out of hand.    

I devoted my life to my wife and children. Now I have time for myself and I have a life again. Things do get better.

I have moved on and accepted divorce. I believe she never thought once about the consequences of her actions. She just thought about herself. The only thing I ever focused on was my boys. They help me through the tough times. I tell them that I love them each and every day. We are a family, just a bit smaller.
