I would tell folks that I am now "retired," but how can a person be retired and currently be working harder than ever.
Writing is a great pleasure, but it is a lot more fun when you get paid for what you write. I like to have fun. I like getting paid. Do you see how that works out very nicely?
One of my other pleasures is developing and maintaining several Web sites. www.sampsonafb.com is one of them. If you want to download some books for free, or cruise my little AcademyWebstore, then visit that site. To get to the store easily, use this link. I put a direct link to the Webstore in the USAFVet blog you will find there. On the site, also, are links to some other sites I have to do with, one way or another. A fun site link is the one to the "abandoned and little known airfields."
Remember what I wrote about writing (fun plus pay)? I have been known to put Web sites together for folks who want their own but don't want to do the "putting" themselves. I am also willing to help those who want to help themselves, so don't be bashful. Those who ask me for something usually receive.
I am an aging medic, a former "bedpan commando" as we were known in the service. As I was learning that trade, I found out how to retain all of the medical mumbo-jumbo in my memory. Thus, as I got older and older and older, it is all still there, right on hand. It's easy. Simply catch all of the ailments you encounter in your career!
Do you recall Rahm Emmanuel's admonition to his boss, President Obama, and to the nation as a whole? "Never let a good crisis go to waste." I have a better admonition, one that I try to live by - "Don't let a funny story go to waste."
So, whenever I look back upon some of the many different things I have done, the many different places I have been, and the myriads of people met along the way, I do my best to forget the bad and to remember the good, particularly if the good was funny. Keep that in mind as you read my stuff so that you don't get the idea that I am frivolous.
I am not frivolous. I am just good looking. Some of us Rednecks can do both at the same time, but that was a trick I never did learn. Call me a mono-Redneck if that's what makes your nose itch.
Oh, yes...before I forget it: Keep smiling !

I was trying to leave a comment/tip - got the "something went wrong" error - re: chicken soup - if you roast the veggies with a little olive oil(including onions) first before adding it will give the soup a marvelous flavor - I love your writing!
