Hello Ciao,

My name is Kim. I am a student of the University of California in Irvine. I am currently in Roma with 95 other UC students on EAP! I do not know Italian, which makes this journey more difficult. However, I am enrolled in a very extensive and rigorous program which makes all of us go to school from 9:30-2:00p.m., everyday for just our Italian class. After three weeks, I will be enrolled in 3 more classes on top of my Italian class everyday! This is not going to be a vacation, but a wild experience! This is my blog for my family and friends to read so that we may all keep in touch.

The culture here is very different, which is why I am writing to inform everyone of what I am experiencing. I am living with an Italian single mother who is now my mother and she feeds me 5 breakfasts and 4 dinners per week. The food is very different than what we think in America…But I love it! I like trying new things, which is why I am here!

I will return to the USA on May 12, 2008. In the meantime, keep looking on here to see how my new life is!
