Life's a Journey! on HubPages

I am a Bethany College graduate double majoring in Literature and Professional Studies, and I have a minor in Theology. I hold a Masters degree in Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction. I am currently teaching kindergarten, which I LOVE, and have also taught everything from 1st grade to 12th over the course of my career. I love reading and will regularly read several books at a time, along with a few audio books on the side (I will be sharing these books with you along the way). I love to paint and find it very therapeutic (please look for these in my hubs as well). Writing is also something I fiddle around with once in a while. My intention is to do more of it.....and thus....here I am! I will share as much as I can manage and my hope is that I can also share some of my life's journey.

I live in San Diego, CA with my little Sophie (a Maltese mix, fluffy white bundle of puppy joy that I found at the animal shelter a couple of years ago). Turns out she was a runner and a terrible barker...thus ending up at the pound! Thankfully for me no one came to claim her...I still can't believe no one would want her and when you see her picture you'll wonder too! Anyway, bark collars are a wonderful thing used on a 'smart' dog. One bark....one shock.....problem solved and you can take the thing off! With that said, I would not recommend these for 'stupid' dogs who would continue to bark even though they are being shocked and I know this from experience as my pug did this exact thing, bless his little pug heart. I never put it on him again because I am definitely against hurting the poor things just because they bark.

I have two beautiful children, Andrea and Adam, who are the loves of my life! Andrea is married to her college sweetheart. She is a special education teacher and he is a fireman...cute huh? Well, they are definitely out there serving the community and loving every minute of it. My son Adam is Marketing Director for a large four-wheel outfit. He is passionate about his work and an extremely outgoing and well-loved kinda guy!

WELL, our lives are most definitely a journey, aren't they? We each have our own to experience, but we are also very much connected to each other and yearn to share with others. I will do this in my hubs and hope that you will return the favor by writing to me and giving me your thoughts. I will let you in on all the insightful readings I've discovered over the last year, share my own thoughts and let you know what I've learned. You may have read some of the same books and you can let me know what you thought. You may decide to read them for yourself, then share with me what you discovered! My hope is to inspire or re-inspire you by discussing the things that have been important or even life-changing for me!

Light, Love and Namaste!
