Lorna Dane will be the first and only child/daughter of a thirty-something couple who - after too much school, travel and multiple careers - has decided that their genes combined just might save the world. Or at least create someone who can be charged with taking out the trash.

Join us on our adventure as we prepare for conception (you're not invited to the main event), deal with fertility issues, heed warnings, and sort through the plethora of “advice” given by family, friends, co-workers, church groups, and random people we pass in the grocery store.

So here's the game plan:

Have One Child

Name her Lorna Dane Todd

Conceive her between May and October of 2009 (we are willing to accept that this may take a few months)

Give birth to her in Jan of 2010 (or 9 months after she is conceived, whichever is longer)

Freak out!

We came up with this plan in September of 2007. Of course the “freak out” portion is the newest addition as we didn’t realize back then how quickly 2010 would seem to approach.
