 First off, I would like to make it abundantly clear that I am not a writer. I wish that I could say that I am a writer, but I am not. I’m just a person who likes to write, and to refer to myself as a ‘writer’ would be, I think, a bit too presumptuous on my part.

I was labeled "dumb" in my formative school years, and I guess I believed it. It took me fifty plus years to discover that I liked to read and write. Up until about two years ago I was what one would consider, illiterate. Anyhow, over the past two years I’ve tried to teach myself how to write; I think that means I have a fool for a teacher, but I have little to no funds for a formal education. Fortunately, I’ve found lots of stuff online to help me along.

I enjoy writing fiction, and I have written a few moderate length stories (about twenty to fifty thousand words in length).

It is my hope that writing Hubpages will help me become a better writer, so that someday I will feel comfortable calling myself a ‘writer’. Also I thought it would be interesting to see if I could make a few pennies along the way.
