It is a road that Basso — a unique deviant in his own right — knows quite well. The Confessions Of A Jilted Superstar… is part eloquent, engaging memoir and part scathing, satiric, social commentary. A product of the free love of the 1960s, Basso was born to a discharged Marine and a hippie mother. His father split early on and his mother was typically disconnected from reality throughout most of his childhood, so he was ‘apparently raised by wolves.’ The ensuing chaos was instrumental in molding his identity. Now, grown and slightly better adjusted to the outside world, he lives in San Jose, California.
