Kelly Jackson is a ‘Jill of all Trades and a Mistress of None.’ She has owned three small businesses, worked as a medical transcriptionist, assisted the daughter of a late President of the United States and a media guru who ran two successful campaigns for another President…one being a democrat and the other a republican.
Kelly is a writer; she’s finished her first novel, a comic mystery called, A Texan Goes to Nirvana and is now working on a midlife guide book with her sister, Sally Jackson with a working title of, The Midlife Gals’ Guide to Shenanigans and Middle-aged Tomfoolery. Kelly and Sally have a blog entitled, “Midlife Gals™” at http://midlifegals.blogspot.com, upon which the book essays are based. Kelly’s next book, a yoga instructional tome is entitled, Yoga For Smokers, Drinkers, Meat Eaters and Non-Believers.
Ms. Jackson is a fifty-five-year-old certified yoga instructor living in Austin, Texas. She has been divorced “a time or two” and presently resides with her sister and their mother, for whom she and her sister serve as baby-boomer caregivers.
Ms. Jackson calls herself a ‘cowgirl without portfolio,’ with a love of riding at every opportunity. Watching high profile golf in person and fishing are two activities that put a smile on her face. She regularly tithes to Heifer International, The Wounded Warriors Program and the USO.
She is looking for a successful, creative, well-traveled, handsome man…oops, never mind, this is her bio not her journal.

If you ask anybody in the industry who Sally Jackson is, they will tell you she is an accomplished casting director. Having cast principal actors for directors such as Stephen Spielberg, Robert Redford, Sidney Lumet, Kevin Costner, Roger Vadim, John Milius and many other legendary filmmakers (see credits on IMDB.PRO), you would think Ms. Jackson would introduce herself as a casting director for major motion pictures that shoot in locations other than Los Angeles. But to this multifaceted woman, it is her day job.
If you ask many upcoming, young actors in Hollywood, they will tell you that Sally Jackson is the most inspiring and insightful acting coach they ever had. Some of the biggest producers in the business will tell you that her script notes are invaluable in helping to develop characters for their upcoming productions.
Bookers at The Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd, The Improv on Melrose and the Ice House in Pasadena will laugh just thinking of her stand-up routines. Ms. Jackson’s comedic writing (in conjunction with her sister, Kelly) has attracted attention, both nationally and internationally through their blog. Still, she does not call herself a writer.
Ms. Jackson spent many years writing and reading scripts for well known players in Hollywood, casting for huge directors, training the young and brilliant in film acting, and baring her comedic soul to every night owl who would listen. How does she introduce herself? Where does she think her own brilliance lies? How does she define herself professionally?
She calls herself an actor.
