I am originally from Boise Idaho and have since relocated to the South with my Fiancée. As a result of our love for animals, we have become the parents of four wonderful dogs. Abie (Border Collie), Cisco (Mutt), Pips (Jack Russell), and Christy (Beagle) all give us entertainment, laughs, joy, and unconditional love. Our lives wouldn't be nearly the same without them.
Both my Fiancée and I are accustomed to living in medium to large-sized cities. So, when we moved to a small town in the south three years ago, we had quite an adjustment to make. It has its pluses, but we miss having good restaurants to dine, activities to participate in, culture, and people that don't talk with a thick hick accent. We'll never get used to phrases like "down there yonder." Sometimes the accent makes people so difficult to understand you have to ask them to repeat themselves multiple times.
Right now I'm unemployed as are many during these difficult times. I like to call myself "temporarily retired." I'm not really sure what I want to do next with my career but hope to find work soon. I wish all those having employment difficulties luck finding whatever they're looking for.
Enjoy my Hubs.

I enjoyed your first hub! Loved your line about cats - for which you win my laugh-out-loud of the day award. (No prize, but a singular honor nevertheless. :0)
Since I love all dogs, it would be hard to choose between these two breeds (yours are both adorable). I like a small dog and love the Jack Russell's ability to jump from the floor onto a man's shoulder or even onto a horse's back. But Border Collies have much to recommend them. Both, as you say, need lots of exercise and I am always saddened to see dogs bred for outdoor activities become restless, lonely yard dogs. It shouldn't be allowed.
Will look forward to your next hubs, Travis.
