Trips on HubPages

For a long time, I made a decent living writing copy for everything under the sun.  Looking back, I think it took some guts to show up in a corporate office and essentially say, "I write better than you or anyone on your staff.   Pay me $100/hour to get up at noon, sit in my pjs all day--unless I go to the gym for two hours--and then spend about one half the time you think I did making up new ways to say the same, old crap."

Now, as a full-time mom, I don't make much money anymore...Unless I raid a piggy bank or sell off my old, gold jewelry (which, unless you're Mr. T, doesn't add up to a hill of beans).  However, there's way more value in what I do:  Raising two, little boys, being a wife, volunteering, dealing with fibromyalgia, and writing, primarily poetry and fiction.  My current projects include researching a green detergent that actually works, getting my 8-year-old to earn his allowance, and finding a publisher for a poetry chap book.  I also have a novel that's been just sitting in a box for nearly two years while I've been busy turning babies into semi-autonomous beings. It'd be nice to get that monkey off my back too.  (It's called, "Floating To The Bottom"--and there's a hub for it, for those who took me seriously about being full of crap.)

Someday, I hope to make some money with my writing again.  Not a lot; just enough to feel marginally satisfied--like a good sushi dinner.  This time around, I'd like it to be in a more authentic way(vs. the corporate-y thing).  In the meantime, I'm enjoying the here-and now....Kissing boo-boos ("We've got a bleeder, Momma!  A bleeder!")...Slug-hunting in the garden...The ability to smile at the end of a particularly painful day....It all keeps me well-grounded, and amazed about the complexities of life.  All these slivers of fleeting, little moments count, and eventually, add up to a person's life.

And, one, other thing:  Because good role modeling is paramount to effective child-rearing--I'm also working on curbing my potty mouth.    That's why I've used the word, "crap" instead of "shit", like three times, in this bio.  That will be $100, please.
