ABOUT THE AUTHOR of WEIRD HISTORIES
A graduate of Ancient and Medieval History (with Latin she adds) of The University of Birmingham. Studied the History of Art for a year before returning to Birmingham to take a Masters degree in Medieval History. MA thesis "Visigothic Attitudes: Women, Religious Practice and Male Homosexulaity" was published in 2001. She also studied Quantitative Methodology as a post graduate, for which she famously won an A*.

She wrote Rembrandt Takes the Cake - an educational, comedy stage play for The Barber Institute of Arts (2002) and wrote, produced and directed Happiness in Painting; Sadness in Sculpture for Birmingham Museum & Art Galleries in 2004.
She gained considerable experience of Secondary Education as a Learning Support Assistant, working mainly with EBD students (aged 11-18) and working as a freelance Private Tutor of History and English Language and Literature (1998-2002).
She writes comedy and has had several plays produced in theatres (and pubs) in Birmingham and London. The most recent was in April 2008 at The Old Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham.
