I was born in Glasgow (Scotland) in 1948 one month before the NHS (National Health Service) started.  (I suspect I'm going to outlive it.)  For the first few years of my life we still had World War II rationing.  However, I've never known hunger or want - yet.

About 1950 my family moved to a lovely little town in the Scottish Borders called Jedburgh.  I still think of myself as a Jedburgh lad, although I haven't actually lived there for many years.

In 1966 I joined the RAF (Royal Air Force) and learned to cook, for my trade.  (Some would say I was working for the enemy.)

I did my 5 years' tour of duty and then rejoined 'civvy street'.

After a few fill-in jobs I started my career as a musican, entertaining in clubs and at functions.  A skill (rather than talent) that allowed me some freedom to enjoy my present self-employed status.

Now that retirement is moving closer (that's if we all get to retire) I'm hoping to devote some of my time to writing.

Let's see what happens.

Your Daisy Hub was very heart wrenching. I've had many similar situations. I lost my cat Alexander in January
