Most of my life I have worked in long term care. A nurses aide from 1984 through1992 when I went to nursing school and became an lpn.Since then I have devoted my career to geriatrics. I've been employed in a nursing home most of my adult lifeI was the primary caregiver to my aging father for the last 25 years of his life and through his 4 stays in three nursing homes,multiple hospital stays and the va system - medicare and medicaid. HE sure was a difficult patient! 5 close members of my family have spent last months or years in nursing homes [ I once worked in bad nursing home, but only for a few days! I know the bussiness from both sides-consumer and provider,with all the tips and tools needed to find keep and improve upon the place we go to convaless, and perhaps to pass from this life to the next. nursing homes can be wonderful last stops on our jouney through life-full of love and happiness.
