I am a Professional Landscaper. I have been working for a local landscaper for the last 5 years. I have a degree is Landscape Development and Design from SUNY Cobleskill, in Cobleskill, NY.
I have a passion for working outdoors in order to help people achieve a specific look for their homes. One thing I have learned is that no two customers are alike. Some people want very professional and personal customer service, and others just want to keep the grass cut and landscape under control.
One thing I have grown to love is diagnosing the landscape. People ask why their plant is dying, and I have to come up with possible solutions. I say "possible solutions" because, unlike humans, plants can't speak, they don't have a heartbeat, a thermometer doesn't work, and once you cut into the middle of a plant to try to find an underlaying cause, bandaids don't heal the wound.
Plants are a gamble. They always have been and always will be. The best advice I could give to anybody is to do a lot of research on the plants you are buying. Make sure the conditions are right.
I am always open to suggestions. Don't take my word for anything. Only use my advice as a guide, because like people, no two landscapes are alike. I have literally observed 2 identical plants on neighboring properties perform quite differently.
So sit back, relax and GET INVOLVED! This hubbing works a lot better with user input.
