My name is Stanley Reese. I grew up in LaGrange, Georgia where I started a writing career as a stringer for the local paper fresh out of high school. During college, I was exposed to radio and "caught the bug". During most of the next eight years, I spent time as a DJ, newscaster and Manager of radio stations in Georgia and Virginia.
In 1990, I finally got the chance to work in television as a newscaster and sportcaster at a small station in my hometown. Even though I interviewed many sports legends like Jeff Gordon, Greg Maddux and Deion Sanders, my career highlight is reporting the events leading up to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
After that, I figured nothing could compare to watching the world come together for such an event. I changed venues and spent the next five years as a Public Information Officer for a Sheriff's Office. This was an experience. I saw the things viewers never get to see on TV.
2000 brought about a move to Alabama and a career change. Since then, I have been a Manager and Regional Manager in Finance.
I now live in Birmingham, Alabama. I am married and have four children ages 23, 21, 2 and 1. Number five is due in January.
My passions, other than my wife and kids, include writing and gardening. I really do hope to be able to make a career out of writing again.
I would like, very much, to launch a new career in media that will allow me to use the experiences I have had the pleasure of living. My resume can be found at http://sites.google.com/site/stanleyreese/
