In the later years of my pursuit for a Mechanical Engineering degree I realized that I did not want to work as an engineer. I did a 6-month internship at NUMMI manufacturing in the Bay Area in 1997 as a quality control engineer. At that time NUMMI manufactured the Toyota Corollas, Chevy Prizms and Toyota Tacoma Trucks. The job was good but I knew that I wanted more out of life and wanted to someday successfully work for myself. After My internship I still had 2 years left to graduation from Chico State. I finished and got a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Now, my goal was to find some job to support myself until I could pursue my dream of working for myself in a very lucrative opportunity. I began exploring different avenues of self-employment, but sadly less than a year from my graduation I suffered kidney failure and had to undergo kidney dialysis 3 times a week for 6 hours each treatment for almost 7 years. I responded exceptionally well to my dialysis treatments and was placed on a kidney transplant list in 2002. To say the least this put a very large detour in my plans, but by having faith in Jesus Christ I knew that there was a reason that this happened and good would come from it someday. Through this very tough trial I learned a lot about myself and about people. I never gave up on my dream, but knew it would take time.
While on Dialysis my friend Marilyn introduced the idea of selling motorized bicycles, especially since we live in a college town. I began to research on these bikes and liked what I found. During my time on dialysis I began to market these bikes on the Internet through a web page I built.
Finally in July 17th 2008 I received a perfect match kidney, I am doing very well.
Now my partner and I are continuing in our marketing of these motorized bicycles, both locally and nationally. We hope to expand out product line soon, to other forms of alternative transportation....

Hello,
I think your idea of motorized bicycles is brilliant!
More and more people are looking for alternate means of transportation these days with the gas prices going who knows where. Keep at it and talk to the right people to help you with marketing your idea. I am glad to know you are doing well with your medical recovery.
God Bless you and good luck,
Delmarva
