Yes I agree I have changed all of my HTML static sites to Wordpress now for ease of use and the fact that my staff can update them with out having to know any HTNL code.
Use wordpress for sure.

Our favorite is Joomla (http://www.joomla.org). It's a free CMS program that installs easily and allows for members / administrators to update all the information from the frontend. Several addons exist that extend the functionality to almost anything. If you want a powerful design instead of the standard template it comes with, you might try http://www.prova.fm/advertising/ as a way to crowdsource your design work.

I've friends and clients who are very pleased with their experience using SBI for web development. Cost effective, feature rich, SEO-SEM principles embedded into design, great customer support.
They have a "do it yourself" package and a "do it for you" package. Both are exceptional and reasonably priced. They include ongoing training too.
