There is grief therapy after a loss of a loved one. It is helpful to attend these as they will provide you with a perspective above your grief. Also, there are others who will be present that share in the same loss which can be comforting to know you do not journey alone. Hearing of others loss and their emotions can begin the healing process for you as well.

One thing that has helped me is journaling (as you probable already know), speaking about the loss of my mother, (and then later , my father) really helped me. Also, because of my faith, prayer was a great help to me too.
These things all taken together helped me heal. Speaking with friends family, prayer, and journaling-all of them helped.
