With snakes, there will be initial expenses when you purchase the snake and get the proper habitat for him/her (which only consists of a cage, water bowl, and a hideout spot). After that your only financial concerns are going to be buying it mice on a weekly basis which shouldn't cost more than a couple of bucks at your local pet store and upgrading the tank size when it reaches a bigger size. You can probably spend less on the entire lifetime of a snake than you would buying a plasma screen TV.
