There are actually genetic tests on the market that will help you. With a cheek swab, about $100, and a stamp you can find out the breeds that make up your dog. Some people have found some interesting mixes where they thought their dog was one type of dog, but turns out to be something totally different.

Yes, with a mixed breed there not 100% way of telling an exact breed. Although genetic test seem 100% accurate. It unfortuantly not, as they don't cover many of the breed

If you look carefully at other dog breed. You'll be able to see a resemblence to your current dog

There's no accurate method of telling exactly what breed of dog your mix-breed is. The only thing you can really go off of is physical characteristics, and potentially any information the dog's parent's owner may have (if that makes any sense). If you don't know what the parents are, then it is hard to 100% accurately determine what breed the dog is mixed with.

Your vet probably would be able to pin it down pretty close. Their are some traits that are in certain breeds, like a spotted tongue, or a curled otter like tail. Your vet can guide you and also the techs are pretty knowledgeable. When you work with animals day in and day out, usually you have a good handle on breeds.
