Ok Yahoo chat used to rule. As far as dating sites. Niche or not I think you need to read some Nietzsche. Joke...it just fit really well. But yahoo did kick ass. I think dating online is a no win situation. We all see the commercials and the happy stories...but online dating is a joke. Not just because it does not really work...but because it is way harder than actually going to the grocery story and finding the chick who likes the same produce as you. Be social...get out...if you want a niche...pick aisle 4...the mexican aisle....and strike up a convo about whether pickled jalepenos are better than fresh.
