Very simple answer to your question. Your dog can experience the same effects as humans when exposed to second hand smoke.
My advice is do not smoke around your dog. If you have a dog and smoke, take the same care as you would with humans; go outside to smoke. Do not smoke inside.

Doctor Partridge says
Your pets look up to you, literally, unless you're raising giraffes, and if they see you smoking, don't be surprised if you're luckys are missing. We all know, from the pictures, that bull dogs love cigars and playing poker with their shoes off. Someone had to show those pooches how to double down, you better not show them how to roll, or you'll be holding up a bag saying "Haaayyyy, and what's with all the biscuit crumbs
