I think the first sign that your marriage is in trouble is when you ask yourself the question, " is my marriage in trouble?"

The next thing to consider are changes in anything- habits, touch, time together, attitudes, communication, desire to be with your spouse, criticism, sarcastic remarks, irritability, avoidance- all of these little things are signs that there is a problem. The good news is, problems can be addressed and fixed.

Every marriage has times of trouble. Some people think these are signs they are no longer "in love". The truth is, they are signs that your relationship needs some attention.

Of course "trouble" can also mean something more serious such as an affair...but most troubles are more common and typical issues. These issues will take a little work to make things better.

Signs....pay close attention to them, it never fails.

you start sleeping on the couch and no longer comunicate with your parter or all you do is fight. OK im in trouble.lol

Well, if you know very well the person you are married with, you´ll sure note if there´s some problem. I think it´s the best possible answer.

Your spouse avoids going to bed at the same time with you.

Little to no sex.

They spend more time alone or away from home.

They are more short tempered with you than they used to be.

When communication seems less and less, and they prefer to spend time doing other things, than spend time with you.

I think common signs would be:

* Your sex life keeps diminishing until it finally becomes obsolete

* You begin spending less and less time at home OR with your partner

* You begin hiding text messages, emails and phone calls from one another

There is no one size fits all. But... lots fighting or one partner withdrawing. Basically, you'd rather be somewhere else than with your partner - or they feel the same.

There are numerous answers to this question. There is already a great list of responses. I would throw out the addition of one partner having a shift of thinking to "I" rather than "we" as a sign of possible future stress.
