Get out the tractor, and the planter, which one depends on what you are planting. Corn: probably a row planter they come in two to twelve rows( and bigger but you'd have to take a second mortgage on everything for one of those). Soybeans, same, rye, wheat or other small grains a drill works best, especially in these days of soil conservation and no-till farming - that means you don't dig up the dirt before you plant, a drill makes little rows and the seeds fall in and get covered up without disturbing the soil all around the planter. It also depends on your zone, we plant around late April, May, into June if breakdowns and weather control planting date. Fill the proper planter with chosen seed, attatch planter to tractor - I can do this - make sure you have fuel . . . starter up and drive slowly. A half can of soda (coke, pepsi it doesn't matter) should sit on your tractor without tipping or spilling as you drive. Lower planter with hydraulics (usually to your right), periodically check to make sure seed is making proper contact and planter is not plugged . . . Ah heck. There's a lot to do before you even get to this point, but somebody's got to do it or we'll have to import more of everything.
