How high from ground level is the third-story of a building? 30 feet? Would falling from 30 ft. could result in death, depending on the surface?

Why do you ask? Curious question... I would think if the landing surface was soft and spongy, one could still break a leg or neck.

I'm wondering why you're wondering.

Because space to ask the question was limited, I couldn't go into detail. But, no, I'm not planning to jump or push anyone from a window. LOL... In a description in a novel I'm writing, I need to be able to describe the number of feet from a third-story window to the ground outside.

30ft. usualy. If it was concrete depending how you fell you would almost certainly break many bones and if you hit your head first you would die.
