To Cease and Desist is a term used to protray that something nolong exists.
In Black's Law Dictionary 8th Edition, the following are the legal descriptions for the following terms:
cease-and-desist letter: a cautonairy letter send to a wrongdoer.
cease-and-desist order: a court's or agency's order prohibiting a person from continuing a particular course of conduct.
Basically, to cease and desist means to stop.
