My daughter is turning 9 on 09.09.2009. Any ideas for her birthday/party?

Tweens love to do grown-up things. Have a Pink Tea Party (or her favorite color) and pull out all the stops to make it fancy. Use cloth napkins, your good china (if it's a small group). You can make placecards, menus,etc. on your computer. I had a Black & White Tea for my daughter's graduation that could be adapted for a 9 year old. You could have a little demo on proper tea drinking. Ask everyone to wear pink (or whatever color). For favors, depending on the numbers of guests you could buy little tea cups at a thrift or antique store and fill with jelly bellies, cover with some net and tie a pretty bow.

I would have a sleep-over/slumber party. You can find nice things from Oriental Trade

Have a glamour party and call it "Dressed to the Nines". Get some glamourous clothes at a second hand store and get lots of make up. The girls can dress up and put on make up. This is her "Golden Year" ... So keep it special but very simple so she can remember it! Only invite 9 kids! 9 is a big deal... last year in the single digits.

You should throw a very memorable party for her. Make her a queen in her birthday by giving a fairytale birthday party. Dress her up like an elven queen where she is the most beautiful among the children guests. If possible, involve her in the planning so that her party will always remain in her memory. Take a picture of everything and create a scrap book.

Hey, we have the same birthday. :) Honestly, I'd avoid drawing too much attention to the 9s thing. Unless it's her lucky number or something. Maybe you could try playing the lottery with a bunch of nines for the fun of it? Otherwise, I'd say have a normal kid's party.
