Ideas for birthing gifts. Lots of friends and my wife are having babies. What are some gift ideas for soon to be mothers?

The best "baby" gift I got was a beautiful, expensive, cotton nightie to wear after the baby was born. It wasn't a nursing nightgown, but I could still nurse. That was 15 years ago. I still have it.

But, perhaps a nightie isn't the best gift for a guy to give. Diapers are always great. And, I always buy baby clothes for the future. No "NB to 3 mo" clothes. All the baby clothes I buy are at least 12-18 mo.

I've always thought a US savings bond would be great, too.

A warm big hug, little understanding, and little more contribution through the following night that coming after babys born, these are some priceless gift a father could give a mother.
