I think he did -- it was Arizona that didn't give him one (he spoke at both commencements).

President Obama accepted an honorary JD (Juris Doctor, or doctor of law degree)from Notre Dame on May 17, as part of his participation as key speaker in the school's commencement ceremony. Such honors are fairly common for celebrated speakers who are invited based on their accomplishments.

The University of Arizona demurred from offering the President a degree, stating that the school's tradition was to honor those with longer records of accomplishment than Mr. Obama. Although many sources I read suggested a racist stance as the reason Mr. Obama was not honored, other key speakers awarded honors from ASU were Mexican, Asian, and African-American. All had records of accomplishments of more than a decade. ASU did name a major scholarship for the President as recognition of his commitment to higher education for all Americans.

It could be because Notre Dame is a Catholic school. And Catholics are idiots, just like fundamentalist Protestants, both of which are against abortion and stem cell research.

Or it could just be that Obama is an empty suit.

How do we know he actully should have had a degree from Notre Dame?? All his records seem to be "missing in action" as is his birth certificate. Ah, but this would be classified as another hub, which has already been written. No true records have surfaced yet.
