I think he did -- it was Arizona that didn't give him one (he spoke at both commencements).

President Obama accepted an honorary JD (Juris Doctor, or doctor of law degree)from Notre Dame on May 17, as part of his participation as key speaker in the school's commencement ceremony. Such honors are fairly common for celebrated speakers who are invited based on their accomplishments.
The University of Arizona demurred from offering the President a degree, stating that the school's tradition was to honor those with longer records of accomplishment than Mr. Obama. Although many sources I read suggested a racist stance as the reason Mr. Obama was not honored, other key speakers awarded honors from ASU were Mexican, Asian, and African-American. All had records of accomplishments of more than a decade. ASU did name a major scholarship for the President as recognition of his commitment to higher education for all Americans.
