Pros and cons of buying a house/living with 1-2 members of your romantic partner's extended family.
While it may be a good idea financially to share rent/mortgage payments with others is it worth compromising your privacy?

Its definitely not worth compromising one's privacy. It would be better to buy a smaller place instead. E.g a One Bed. Some one-bed apartments are very comfortable for couples.
A lot of relationships have broken due to partners living with extended family.

While privacy is an issue, it's not all that is at risk here. Having other people in the house can be a strain on even the best of relationships. My 27 yr old daughter moved in with us temporarily when her husband received orders to Cuba. Tension between her and my partner caused me a great deal of stress.
