Can a person say with conviction that he will go to Heaven?

When someone declares that others will burn in Hell, What makes him so sure he will not? Aren't these things beyond our knowledge, though of course, with good deeds, we try to make our way.

Manna in the wild says

1. "Conviction" is the result of a criminal trial in which the defendant has been found guilty of a crime.

or...

2. the act of convincing of error, or of compelling the admission of a truth; confutation.

or...

3. The state of being convinced or convicted; strong persuasion or belief; especially, the state of being convicted of sin, or by one's conscience.

or

4. an unshakable belief in something without need for proof or evidence

The only definition that fits within the context of your question is number 4. In that regard, without a need for proof or evidence, the answer to your question is simply "yes", and I don't need to supply a reason.

To answer your question more specifically, "It is the person's own belief that makes him sure." "Are these things beyond our knowledge?" No. Science has advanced enough to be sure that there is no Hell. You can relax. Just enjoy life.

Will Christians go to Heaven

How many times have you heard people say they're going to heaven? From where does this concept comes? Well, I will step out of the norm and say openly that no scripture support this concept. I can categorically and positively affirm that no human... keep reading →

Depends on what religion he is in. But in Islam, 2 types of people. Believer and Non-believer (Kafir). The Kafir will obviously be punished in Hell for eternity.

A person can say whatever they want to say about going to Heaven, but I believe it takes a lot more than talk to go to Heaven. The individual must live a life that represents Christ as best he/she can and most important believe in Christ. They may do things that are considered sinful but their faith and desire to glorify God will most likely get them into Heaven.

Yes I believe you can. If we are judging others and telling them they will burn in hell then we risk the very same thing. The Word says judge not lest ye be judged. I concentrate on myself and what I need to work on. But the Word is very clear that we do not earn salvation it is freely given by the Grace of God. When we ask in Jesus name and believe that He died for our Salvation and accept Him into our heart we are saved. This is an act of faith.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Well being born a Christian i am given the concept of what heaven and hell is and how a person goes there. As time passed the belief in heaven and hell and how it was portrayed by my die hard christian parents seem to have a different concept with me as I observed everyone's life; for my opinion we create our own heaven and hell while we are alive its a matter of consequences by the decision we make. We do good and somehow the life we live seems to be "heaven" and we do bad the life we live seems like "Hell", the sad part is when the time comes and we grow old and die we realize the thing we have done and the choices we have made that is when we realize what world we have created when we were alive.

Personally I believe neither heaven nor hell exist. If God is so powerful why he needs us? Where is God during wars, sufferings, rapes? Why Allah left people alone in Jammu Kashmir? Why Lord the God left Jews through holocaust ? Why Shiva left Tamils die in Sri-Lankan civil war? Where is Buddha when Burmese people suffer under military rule? God & Religion all are in our minds. If everybody love their fellow human beings no need of God & Heaven.

Only once you remove the IF factor. Shall you be assured of the Promise which is better than any other promise or gift ever made by anybody.

Once you believe upon the works of Christ, Once you have made a relationship with Him, even if you lose It! He Shall Not! A simple prayer can for some get it done, IF they truly mean it with all their heart.

You Must believe Upon Him not only in Him!

Once you do this then you will have known you have done so, even if you lose this feeling or belief. It is counted as if you have completed the task, for None can pluck you out of HIS hand once you come to Him fully.

But beware only He will know that you have done this. And this is why we must endure to the end always with Hope in the promise. Not for Christ's sake, but for your own souls sake.

Whosoever believe-th ON not In. For even the Devil and his angels believe in Him. Get a relationship going through Payer and make yourself believe, Upon the Promises of God and His Son. Test them out, seek them Out, you shall know them by their fruits.

I don't think with good deeps only, one can enter heaven. What you need is the Grace of God. I think anyone who declares that others will burn in Hell is a hypocrite. Because it's not simple and easy to spend everyday of your life living like a saint. You will miss everything. The saints pray every second, every minute and every hour. I know I can't do this so I won't judge others.

I guess those who do that have forgotten the scripture; it says 'judge not'

NO and most of the christians I know dont stand a chance of getting there even if there was such a place. Their idea of getting to heaven is to make this life a living hell for as many people as they can. They figure that since they believe in god and accept him as their savior, they have a free get out of hell card. This card allows them to vear as far as possible from the teachings of their god and her son.
