It really depends on the type of repair that you are considering undertaking. Most repairs will either be Hardware or Software related.
For Hardware repairs, schematics are available for most laptops online which give instructions for replacing screens, keyboards, graphics cards, RAM etc. but these instructions tend to relate to laptops that have been out on the market for a while.
For software repairs, again plenty of resources online regardiing OS Installation/Repair etc.
