Who is the greatest rappers ever to walk the earth?

50 Cent is the most entertaining rapper ever in my opinion but not the greatest. What I mean by that is that if a 50 Cent interview comes on I will watch it because he says some off the wall hilarious stuff.

Tupac and Biggie are the greatest of all time, Bone Thugs, Twista, and T.I. are awesome, I think I would have to say that Eminem and his posse have locked down the rap game for the present.

LL Cool J, 50 Cent, and Lil Wayne are far from being the greatest. First of all, LL Cool J is forgotten for the most part. 50 Cent's short reign has already fizzled out as far as i'm concerned. Lil Wayne has some good hits, but when you use a synthesizer or other vocal equipment to change your voice then your not the one rapping.

It takes a new school fool to dis LL the future of the funk. He's definitely in the conversation. The question isn't about who's hottest today, or the biggest today, so his relevance today is...well...irrelevant. LL dropped "Break of Dawn" and killed 3 rappers career in one song. The man's got hits like crazy - certainly in the convo. Not to be in the category of 50 Cent at all...he's waaaaaaay over 50's head.

My list is more true to the streets and the old school. It's hard for me, as it obviously is for everyone, to just name one so in no particular order I'll say:

Tupac (certainly not my #1, but in the conversation)

That's about it. I don't think I would put anyone else in this class of emcee, not as a candidate for all-time great. Biggie gets an honorable mention, but listening back to him today...I guess he's in the conversation - but I'd say he falls short of #1 by a long shot. If this were groups, I'd say Run-DMC hands down, but I don't think either of them (Run or DMC) stands out as the greatest emcee.
