Which animated or cartoon character do you think can be given a status of celebrity?

I'd go with Tom and Jerry! Totally lovable and universally popular.

Homer J. Simpson. The Simpson's is the longest running cartoon.. aired at prime time, not Saturday mornings. He has his own movie, video games, and loads and loads of other paraphernalia including slippers!

Betty Boop. She's the black and white Marilyn Monroe.

Of course Mickey Mouse! He has his own kingdom for reals! lol.

Betty Boop! There wasn’t anything hardcore about Betty Boop but she was overflowing with charisma and appeal – for an animated cartoon character. During her heydays during the early 20th century, she was the Marilyn Monroe of paper frames.
