Google Wave is a communication platform that combines; instant messaging, eMail, online collaboration applications into a single ubiquitous platform via the web browser. One of its most useful features (robots) is the "playback" button. There is a 1 hour 24 minute demo that shows robots and wavelettes in action - very exciting to see.
Here is a Link to a blog that goes into greater detail on what Google Wave is and how it works and its long term development forecast. This site has an Alexa rank of 1207, so you know its a well visited site.
