No but seriously, don't forget that you can ask for help. No one has all the answers and starting out on your own can be overwhelming. Ask for advice, ask questions, ask for directions...it never hurts to ask.

Between all three of my kids, I've replaced enough stolen iPods and cell phones why they were at college to keep Apple AND Verizon in business for the next 10 years!

If they are heading off to college I suggest you show them my hub College- A Retrospect. First check it out to make sure it is appropriate, but as a recent grad I consider myself a semi-knowledgeable creature.

Some of the same things I tell them now, really.
Don't play in traffic, sit facing the door, if you talk to strangers, ask good, identifying questions, that sort of thing.
But for a grown child, I would add, Don't waste time making everyone around you happy at your own expense. It never, ever works out.
Of course, they never, ever listen, either *grin*
