How can I add a solar panel to a skylight?
Will the existing skylight glass block the amount of power the solar panel is able to generate?

First of all, you will block the incoming light that comes through the skylight and any benefit that it currently performs in heating the house, etc. There is plenty of unused space on the roof to put solar panels and that is where they belong on the south facing roof (if you live in the northern hemisphere)

I say try it and see if you get a big defiance between outside and in, also the light may be lower more consistent from the skylight.
BUILD YOUR SOLOR PANELS STEP BY STEP And SAVE

The purpose of solar panels is to utilize the sun's energy to creat electrical energy. A sky light provides natural light and often replaces the need for artificial light. You can either have one or ther other.
The energy produced by a solar panel would not generate as much energy saved by a sky light. Therefore it is not beneficial to add a solar panel to a skylight as you will block the natural sunlight.
