What breed or breeds of dogs do you have or which breed or breeds of dogs are your favorite and why?

I have two Alaskan Malamutes. Malachi and Shiloh. These are by far my favorite breed. Although they are stubborn and frustrating at times they are so incredibly loyal and loving. They are extremely intelligent dogs, you can train them to do anything and they keep me in shape since they need a lot of exercise!! lol

As for which breed(s) I prefer, I have so many it's hard to say. I'm a Groomer and know a lot about a lot of breeds, I've also had quite a few different breeds throughout my 29 yrs. I think I'd have to say my favorite dog, well DOGS, from my personal ownership are: #1-English Springer Spaniels, I've had 3, all when I was a child, & "Duchess", the 2nd one, was my favorite of all time. She was liver & white and had a heart of pure gold! Although my parents wouldn't let me have an "inside" dog, I spent 100% of my time, when out of school, with "Duchess". She was loyal, very intelligent, playful, and so loving. I'd LOVE to find another like her.

Now, as for which breed I currently own, I have 2 pomeranians, the 1st one of which I obtained by pure accident, but apparently, by fate. "Remi" was severly suffering from lack of attention & love when I got her & now, she's like my shadow & we have a very special bond. "Kazzi" is a 5 month old male puppy who is teaching me EXACTLY how DIFFICULT this very intelligent but VERY STUBBORN, this little breed can be!!!

So, I guess I don't have a FAVORITE breed of dog really, it's more like a "ranking" system for me, from most fav to least fav....

I have a Shiba Inu mix. Not sure what else he is, but he is cute as hell! He is very rambunctious and hyper, but he has calmed down a ton since we adopted him and started working with him.

He is a very loving dog and he is good to take on hikes which is what I love to do!

I have 5 Shih Tzu's. We started with an 8 week old female named Cailani and a year later went back to the same breeder and got a male named Codi. They ended up mating and Cailani had 3 beautiful pups, 1 female and 2 males.

If I had known how great the Shih Tzu breed was years ago i would never have gotten another dog. They are faithful, obedient, smart and get along with everyone. The only downside to this breed is the continued grooming but i find if you can brush them out at least once or twice a day you shouldn't have any problems.

I'd have to say dogs bred for sheep herding are usually my favorite. I love the intelligence and the energy.

The best dog for my personality is the one I have now, which is a Lhasa Apso. I think these are great dogs for those of the writer-persuasion as they just don't need all that much. For the most part my dog is more than happy to lay by my feet (or anywhere really), she only barks when someone knocks at the door and except when feeding time rolls around she is utterly happy with passive attention. The only down side is the stubbornness but hell, as the old saying goes about getting nine out of ten...but if I had kids and land I'd definitely have to pick up a Golden Retriever or a Labrador.

I have a Saint Bernard and a "choodle" She is half poodle and half chihuahua. I love big huggable dogs and have wanted a saint since I fell in love with my neighbors saint when I was ten. I am 49 now and have had my 7 yr old Saint since he was 8 weeks old. Saints are wonderful companion animals, very loyal and intelligent. My little dog was a surprise.My ten yr old at the time brought her home in her coat pocket! She fit in my hand. She is now 12 years old and still very active. She's like a little fluff ball..chi legs and then POOF, poodle everywhere else lol. I'm partial to big dogs but this little dog will have my heart forever :) The funny thing is, she is 8 lbs.My saint is 120 lbs but she's the boss since she was the older dog when we got him. He follows her lead completely lol.

Right now, we have an Akita and a mixed terrier. Of the two, i prefer the Akita. I have always been a larger dog fan.

Also, Akitas are very smart dogs. They will play with your mind and act like they are not listening when you give them commands, so you need to be constant with obedience training.

We have a miniature schnauzer named Dixie Belle as in southern belle of the ball and that she certainly is!! She is very smart, loving, and loyal and we wouldn't know what to do without her. And schnauzers don't shed so they are great companions for people with allergies!!

We share our home with Sasha, our Alaskan Malamute. We love all dogs, and enjoy Northern breeds for their intelligence, beauty, loyalty and humor. It's really fun to have a dog that "talks back" to you and smiles.

A fun loving, affectionate, loyal, licky, snoring, farting, and lazy Frenchie. They are the best!

My husband and I have had Siberian Huskies for more than twenty years. Right now we have a black and white, Nikko, an all white Blanca, and a miniature beagle Bodi.

I love a big dog that will snuggle up to you - albeit they leave a smear of dog hair, but as any dog lover knows... no outfit is complete without dog hair.

The husky is such a love dog, they really bond with their owners. We've had multiples and they always get along well together. We love their funny quirks... like hiding treats and bones around the house, and "talking back" to you.

When we lived in the country a miniature beagle adopted us and our huskies accepted him with open arms.

at this time i have a 7months old german sheperd husky mix and i could love her more...i also have another dog hes 3 1/2 year old purebred german sheperd....i love them both very much.....my husband and i treat them like family, sheperds and husky's are our favorite dog breed, if anyone has nice cute photos of huskies or sheperds please send them to us

Well..I hv a chow chow,he look like a lion,imagine im walking with a lion king at the park,all ppl looking at me curiously,so cool.. :)

Currently, I own a nine year old female wolf hybrid who partly resembles the red wolf in looks and color, and I own a one year old male black lab mix. He has lab, golden retriever, and poodle in him, effectively earning him the golden labradoodle title.

My favorite dog breeds though... Oh boy, so many.

The first is a wolf hybrid. I've always loved wolves and as a teenager would dreamed of owning one, even before Keisha came along. In fact Keisha was seven months old before I found out she was half wolf.

The second is a German Shepherd. I once owned a German Shepherd, and these are among the most trainable dogs I've seen. In just one week, I had taught my Shepherd to sit, come, lay down, stay, give paw. Prior to that, he had been living with a man who refused to provide good care for the dog. He abused the dog and let the dog run free in the neighborhood. I made him turn the dog over to me. Imagine, a twelve year old girl standing up to an abusive thirty year old man..

The next would be the Golden Retriever. I fell in love with this breed when my speech therapist introduced me to hers. They are beautiful and graceful, highly intelligent animals. In fact, one of the dogs I had raised, was part golden retriever.

So many more to list, so I'm going to skip explanations on them, if that's okay..

The Kuvasz, the Border Collie, the Rough Collie, Siberian Huskies, Dobermans, Rottweilers, Akitas, Samoyeds, Shelties, Dalmations, Labradors, and mixed breeds. Yep, you can't go wrong with a mixed breed. Particularly a mixed breed who is grateful to you for saving their life.
