Some of it is probably luck, but a lot of it might have to do with the way a blind man appreciates people. Not just beautiful women, but especially beautiful women, who have to worry that a man is there just for her looks. Her relationship with a blind man must be much less superficial.

Women who are truly beautiful have their souls in their faces. If that soul is loving, pure and caring, the face will be beautiful, regardless of the standards set by commercial culture. As a blind woman, I can always tell when a man is handsome by his voice, his topics of conversation, and his ability to love. Society may or may not find him handsome by the same criteria, but chances are more than likely he will look good because he is good.
