You need that people who visit your pages click on the ads. One click may give you some cents or 1 dollar or more. It´s not certain. So, you have to do a good work and hope that people like the ads on your pages and click on them.

Submit a bunch of Hubs, put adsense on your own website or blog and drive relevant traffic. You need a high volume of traffic to generate clicks.
