Why would my cat be trying to cover up milk in a bowl?
The mother cat tries to cover milk as if it is a litter box.

My daughter's cat does the same with her dinner. It's part of her routine. She claws across the bare floor around the dish over and over again. I know this doesn't answer "why" - but I thought I'd mention that your cat isn't alone. (I've always assumed it's instinct or else "instinct wires crossed" :) ) (Then, too, maybe they have a vision problem. :) )
