How do I plant a fairy garden indoors?

All I was planning to accomplish in this article was to give some information to you Fairy Garden Enthusiasts and set you all in some direction...but as I am thinking through the photographic segments of this Hub, I am thinking about bringing the theme from my secret garden into my own home! how big do you want your garden? also do u have a shallow container or pot to use? u should really use a shallow and wide it looks neater and more room for pathways!!

Find your pot than use miracle grow mix... also when you go to the garden section look at the seeds, look for annuals that are little baby flowers, find all different kinds, and colors!!

Also when you look at your pot and put your streets in using rocks or anything that would look neat as your roads! buttons for stepping stones ect.. use your imagination!!!

After u figure out where u want everything than u decide where your flowers are going to be...

Make little indents along the paths pluck your seeds in ( u want to read the back of the seeds and find out how tall things are going to be... range your seeds from highest to smallest...) now remember u don't need to use all your seeds...

You can have leftover.

When your done i would suggest misting them w/water from a water bottle not a watering can your seeds might float like a river if it gets to much.. Just take it easy and watch them grow!!!

If u have sides on your pot then u could cover w/saran wrap if no sides put q-tips in for sides. it will create a green house!!! glass pieces for stepping stones!! there's so many ideas!!! Hope this helps!!!! Have fun and let me know if u have any more questions!!!

If you have a flee market you like to go to, or even spend a week-end hunting yard sales, you may find a plastic bubble terrarium for a great "indoor" Fairy garden feature. If not use your imagination, anything from an old aquaium to a small kiddie table set under a sunny window.

Depending if you want your fantasy garden in the shade or a sunny spot in your home, select plants that will thrive in your chosen environment. There are so many miniature plants and flowers to choose from, instead of grass along the tiny paths, use "baby's tears" a ground cover that has teeny leaves and the tiniest of delicate flowers in spring.
